Private Photography Workshop
Your Destination. Your Schedule. Your Photography.
Photography, Designed for You
Sometimes the best photography workshop is one created specifically for you. Whether you’re looking for one-on-one instruction, traveling with a few friends, or organizing a private group, Randy can design a personalized photography workshop around where you want to go, what you want to photograph, and the skills you want to develop.
Your workshop can focus on architectural photography, travel, landscapes, Lightroom and Photoshop, light painting, or a combination tailored to your interests. Choose a destination you’ve always wanted to photograph, revisit a favorite location with a new perspective, or work with Randy to select a destination that fits the photographs you want to create.
Every private workshop is individually planned. Randy will work with you to develop the itinerary, photography locations, schedule, accommodations, transportation, and instruction based on your goals, group size, available time, and budget. From a focused one-day workshop to a multi-day photography experience, the details can be customized around what works best for you.
Tell Randy where you’d like to go, what you want to photograph, what you’d like to learn, and the budget you have in mind. From there, he’ll create a personalized itinerary and cost proposal designed around your photography experience.

February 8: Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes Sunrise, Badwater Basin and Sunset at Zabriskie Point

After breakfast and a midday break at the hotel, we’ll explore Badwater Basin and the surrounding landscape before finishing at Zabriskie Point for golden hour and sunset.
February 9: Death Valley Landscapes, Rhyolite Ghost Town and Light Painting
We’ll begin with an early morning landscape shoot before returning to the hotel for breakfast and time to relax. Later, we’ll travel to Rhyolite Ghost Town to photograph its abandoned buildings, ruins, and desert surroundings. As darkness falls, Randy will lead a light painting session, using controlled lighting to transform the historic structures into dramatic nighttime photographs.
February 10: Death Valley Sunrise, 4x4 Adventure to Racetrack Playa and Twilight Photography
For sunrise this morning we head back to Rialto Beach with a hike to Hole in the Wall and some beautiful tide pools. We’ll hold another image review and We’ll start with another sunrise location selected according to the conditions and light before returning for breakfast and a midday break. In the afternoon, we’ll depart in rented four-wheel-drive Jeeps for Racetrack Playa, where we’ll photograph the famous sailing stones and vast desert landscape through late afternoon, sunset, and twilight before returning to The Inn.
