Karen Bungall

With more than 35 years of experience as a professional photographer, Karen has built her career creating high-end imagery for commercial brands, businesses, artists and private clients throughout the UK and internationally. Her work has always been driven by understanding light and composition, developing an eye for the details that will transform an ordinary photograph into something beautiful.

Alongside her commercial work, Karen mentors photographers through Karen Bengall Education, helping aspiring and semi-professional photographers develop the technical skills, creative confidence and business knowledge needed to grow. She's spent recent years breaking down the technical side of photography, camera handling, lighting, and composition into something people can actually use in their photography.

Whether photographing luxury products in a studio or exploring the streets of London, the principles of great photography remain the same. Understanding light, recognizing strong compositions, choosing the right perspective, and framing a scene with intention are skills that apply everywhere. During this workshop, Karen aims to help you slow down, observe your surroundings, and develop the confidence to create stronger photographs wherever you are.

Karen brings that same approach to her teaching, encouraging photographers to look beyond the obvious and become more aware of light, composition, perspective, and the details that make an image successful. Her goal is not simply to help photographers create better images during a workshop, but to give them the skills and confidence to continue creating stronger photographs long after they return home.
