London is a city made for photography, where centuries of history meet bold contemporary architecture, colorful neighborhoods, and some of the world's most recognizable landmarks. Join award-winning architectural photographer Randy Van Duinen and London photographer Karen Bengall for five days of photography throughout one of the world's great cities.
Our days are planned around London's best photographic light, from quiet early mornings to golden hour, sunset, and blue hour. We'll photograph iconic locations including Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, Parliament, Leadenhall Market, and Millennium Bridge, while Karen's local knowledge takes us beyond the familiar to architectural details, hidden streets, and locations many visitors never discover.
We'll also step beyond architecture and cityscapes for a special model shoot in a classic London setting, featuring one of the city's iconic red telephone boxes and, if available, a Vespa.
Throughout the workshop, Randy and Karen will work alongside you on composition, camera technique, and creative approaches to travel and architectural photography. We'll also make time for image review and post-processing instruction to help you get the most from the photographs you create.
Limited to just 12 participants, London Calling combines exceptional photographic opportunities, local knowledge, and personal instruction with the experience of exploring London alongside a small group of fellow photographers.

June 6, 2027: Arrival in London, Orientation and Welcome Dinner
Arrive in London and check into our hotel near Tower Hill. You’ll have the afternoon to settle in and explore the area before meeting Randy, Karen, and the group for our workshop orientation and welcome dinner.
June 7, 2027: Leadenhall Market, Modern London, Tower Bridge Sunset
We’ll start the morning photographing historic Leadenhall Market before exploring Lloyd’s of London and the striking modern architecture of the City. Following lunch, we’ll return to the hotel for an afternoon break before heading to the Thames to photograph Tower Bridge through golden hour, sunset, and blue hour.
June 8, 2027: Trafalgar Square, London Model Shoot, Big Ben and Parliament Sunset
We’ll begin early at Trafalgar Square, photographing its architecture, fountains, and classic London street scenes before the crowds arrive. After lunch and an afternoon break, we’ll photograph a model in a classic London setting featuring an iconic red telephone box and, if available, a Vespa. We’ll finish along the Thames photographing Big Ben, Parliament, and Westminster Bridge through sunset and blue hour.
June 9, 2027: St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, Millennium Bridge Twilight
We’ll begin the day photographing St. Paul’s Cathedral before crossing the Thames to explore the architecture and photographic opportunities around Tate Modern. Following lunch, we’ll return to the hotel for an afternoon break and image review before heading back out to photograph Millennium Bridge and St. Paul’s as the light changes from golden hour through sunset and twilight.
June 10, 2027: Historic & Modern London, Final Sunset & Closing Dinnerr
We’ll spend the morning photographing the Bank of England, Royal Exchange, and the mix of historic and contemporary architecture throughout London’s financial district. After lunch and an afternoon break, we’ll head out for our final sunset shoot at a location selected for the best light and weather conditions. We’ll finish the evening with our closing dinner and celebrate our time photographing London together.
June 11, 2027: Final London Shoot, Image Review and Workshop Wrap-Up
We’ll start our final morning with an early photography session at one of London’s iconic locations, taking advantage of the quieter streets and morning light. We’ll return to the hotel for a final image review, post-processing instruction, and workshop wrap-up, concluding London Calling at noon.

The London Calling Experience
London Calling is designed to give you the freedom to concentrate on your photography while we take care of many of the details. With our hotel near Tower Hill as our home base, we’ll be ideally located for exploring and photographing some of London’s most iconic locations while also discovering places most visitors never see.
Our days are built around photography and the best available light, with early mornings, afternoon breaks, and evening sessions through sunset and blue hour. Along the way, Randy and Karen will be right beside you, offering personal instruction, creative guidance, and Karen’s local knowledge of London.

Workshop Details
Fitness
Moderate: London is a wonderfully walkable city, and exploring on foot is one of the best ways to experience it. Expect several miles of walking each day, stairs, and use of London’s Underground while carrying your camera gear.
Flights
Arrive at Heathrow Airport (LHR), London, UK. Plan to arrive in London by the afternoon of June 6, 2027, in time for our evening orientation and welcome dinner. International travel delays are common, so we strongly recommend arriving in London at least one day before the workshop begins.

Payment Terms
Workshop Tuition: $4,500
A $2,500 deposit reserves your place in London Calling. The remaining $2,000 balance is due by February 1, 2027.
